This third edition is available only as a PDF. This makes it possible to include all the maps. If it were published as a book, the printing costs alone would have amounted to about €350 per copy. In addition, this format allows for the use of a search function and the option to use the pages interactively, so that they can also be used as a list of missing items or an inventory.

The PDF files are bilingual (UK English/German). The handbook and catalogue together comprise approximately 2,200 pages.

The DVD covers the regions of Germany after 1945, divided into 5 volumes, namely
